Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hopo application and website at hopo.io (the "Service"), operated by Buckden Ventures Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Account Registration

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • One person may not maintain more than one account.

Service Description

Hopo is a home inventory management application that allows you to:

  • Catalogue belongings across multiple properties
  • Upload photographs of items
  • Track annual expenses (insurance, subscriptions, MOTs)
  • Share property access with other users
  • Export inventory data (Pro tier)

Subscription Tiers

Free Tier

  • 1 property
  • 50 items per property
  • 1 photo per item
  • Basic features

Pro Tier (£20/year)

  • Up to 10 properties
  • 2,000 items per property
  • 3 photos per item
  • Annual item reminders
  • Sharing and export features

Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

Payment Terms

  • Pro subscriptions are billed annually via Stripe.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel at any time through the Settings page or Stripe Customer Portal.
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you have not substantially used Pro features.

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service (photographs, descriptions, valuations).
  • You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely for providing the Service.
  • We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload malicious files or content
  • Attempt to access other users' data without authorisation
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our data practices.

Service Availability

  • We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice.
  • The Service requires an internet connection for data synchronisation (offline read access is available via the PWA).

Intellectual Property

  • The Hopo name, logo, and branding are the property of Buckden Ventures Ltd.
  • The Service software and design are protected by copyright.
  • Open-source components are used under their respective licences.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or indirect damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms with reasonable notice.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
